Chester, our Golden Retriever – and our inspiration for Reactive Dog Holidays, can be fearful of dogs his own size having been attacked several times (due to him being submissive). If not given the space he needs, he may bark or lunge at the dog out of fear, which to outsiders may look aggressive – this reaction can be quite common with fearful dogs. We are working with Chester daily to build his confidence at his own pace and hope to take him on many more carefully selected holidays which he finds as relaxing as us – with lots of lovely sniff spots!
