Tucked away at the end of a private driveway, Three Gables is a spacious five-bedroom village house designed with peace, privacy, and comfort in mind. With an enclosed garden and no neighbouring dogs, it’s an ideal retreat for guests travelling with reactive or sensitive dogs, offering a calm and stress-free environment for both pets and owners.
Perfect for gatherings with friends and family, the house comfortably sleeps up to 10 adults, with additional toddler bed and two travel cots. With four bathrooms and space for up to four dogs, everyone can relax and feel at home. Dogs are allowed in all downstairs areas including the 2 downstairs bedrooms, there is a stair gate to stop them going upstairs.
Step straight from the door onto nearby beautiful walking routes, with access to over 500 miles of footpaths—perfect for exploring at your own pace. Conveniently located, there’s a local shop just a two-minute walk away (open March to November), a village shop in Shalfleet 1.5 miles away (open year-round), and three welcoming pubs within a two-mile walk. A bus stop is also less than 50 metres from the driveway.
For days by the sea, Brook Beach is just three miles away, with the stunning, award-winning Compton Bay a little further along the coast. Newport, the island’s county town, is just six miles away, while the historic harbour town of Yarmouth is only three miles away. Three Gables is perfectly positioned for exploring the Isle of Wight, with easy access to footpaths, cycle routes, beaches, and charming towns.
The house is an eco-friendly holiday retreat, powered by renewable energy from a state-of-the-art solar PV system and solar thermal water heating. We are pleased to have been awarded Gold in the Isle of Wight Green Tourism Awards for the second year running. An electric vehicle charger is available, making sustainable travel easy and convenient.

Entry is into a spacious and light filled house, with large windows and patio doors creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Excellent insulation and central heating ensure it stays warm and cosy in the cooler months, while solar-heated water keeps things efficient year-round.Lounge
Spacious lounge with ample seating for 10, relax in company, play board games or watch the 48″ TV with freeview, Roku stick, Blu-ray player and stereo system. French doors lead onto the decked veranda and garden to the front.Kitchen and dining room
Large open plan kitchen diner with bespoke kitchen units, Rangemaster electric cooker, American style fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and all the pots and pans and utensils you need to cook up a culinary delight. A great place for everyone to gather, cook and socialise. A large table comfortably seats 10, perfect for enjoying a family or group meal together.Bedroom 1

Duvets and pillows are provided on all beds, with linen and bath towels supplied. Please bring your own beach towels. The property is thoroughly cleaned before arrival. Free broadband internet access via wi-fi is available throughout the house.A selection of toys and games are available including garden games. A high chair and stair gates are available on request. Two cots and a toddler bed are also available on request, but please provide your own linen for the cots.
Accessibility
The property is not adapted for wheelchairs but is suitable for people with restricted mobility. Access to the property includes a step into the house. On the ground floor is an ensuite bedroom (double), the kitchen, lounge, bedroom 5 (twin) and separate family bathroom. Patio doors from the lounge lead to a decked veranda area, from where steps lead down to the garden. There is also an alternative garden access via a gentle grassed slope from the side of the house for those who cannot manage steps well.All about the outside:
The house is at the end of a private drive with plenty of room for parking 4 or more cars.The garden is enclosed and fenced all round to ensure safety, with no neighbouring dogs. It is accessed via steps from the veranda to the patio, perfect for an al fresco breakfast, with sloped grass banks and steps to the lower lawns. There is also alternative access via a gentle slope.
There is a BBQ and garden furniture provided for outdoor living, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
