Lakeside Retreat at Tallington, dog friendly holiday rental with private garden & hot tub.
Why This Property is Ideal for a Reactive Dog
Designed with reactive dogs in mind, this property offers a secure and calming environment. With a fully enclosed 5ft fenced and screened garden, dogs are shielded from passing people and pets, reducing triggers. The quiet single-lane access and screening around the hot tub area add further privacy.
Tallington Lakes is located on the border of Rutland, Cambridgeshire, and Lincolnshire, making it easily accessible from most of the UK. Please note: it is not near Tattershall Lakes and offers a very different and much quieter experience.
This self-catering lodge is positioned at the top of the largest lake, with only arable farmland at the rear, ensuring a peaceful and private stay. While there are other lodges nearby – some may even be cheaper none offer our unique view, enclosed garden, or hot tub.Facing south over the lake, the lodge enjoys full sun and stays warm year-round, even in winter.
Perfect for Reactive Dogs
This property has been carefully designed with reactive dogs in mind. As a dog guardian myself (of four dogs – each with different triggers), I understand how difficult it can be to find somewhere relaxing that also limits stress and reactivity.
Enclosed 5ft fenced garden with screening for privacy – no open views to passing dogs or people
Porch entrance and three-step garden access with a dog ramp for older or smaller dogs
Warm outdoor shower, spare leads, towels, and identity collars provided
Furniture permitted for dogs (please bring your own throws and beds)
Crates available on request
Double-gated front access and optional additional fencing around the hot tub area
Dogs welcome everywhere, including bedroom and bathroom areas (human bedding must be provided if dogs sleep on beds)
The single-lane access track is very quiet, and while some dogs may pass by on walks, your screened garden and parked car provide a strong barrier.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The lodge features two bedrooms for a comfortable and flexible stay:
The main bedroom includes a king-width bed, a walk-in wardrobe, and a private en-suite bathroom. A cot fits in the wardrobe area, making it ideal for families with young children.
The second bedroom can be arranged as either a twin or a large double, and has its own walk-in shower and WC.
Additionally, there is a single click-clack bed located in the lounge, offering extra sleeping space if needed.
Both bedrooms are warm, quiet, and dog-accessible, with direct access to the rest of the lodge.
