We designed our cottage around our dogs, with the extensive ground floor with limestone flooring, a separate dog snug with direct access to one of our large back gardens, in total, nearly 1 acre of dog secure gardens ( set behind 8′ tall, thick stone wall) and 600meters walk to a year-round dog-friendly beach. Luxury touches for owners with fully equipped kitchen, loads of social spaces inside and outside, and located in a quiet but historic village ( No fireworks !)

Haviland Cottage is an elegant period property located in pretty Bonchurch on the outskirts of the seaside resort of Ventnor and its sandy beaches. With its own rural walks and picturesque views, the cottage is in a perfect location for you to explore the Isle of Wight.

Relax and make yourself at home: Leave the world behind as you enter the grounds through a private terrace. Behind the thick stone walls is a private area with a five-seater Jacuzzi hot tub where you can relax away from the crowd. Follow the terrace to discover a secret garden worthy of any children’s novel, where you will find wildflowers in bloom and shade under the trees.

Beautiful grounds lovingly restored: At the entrance, you’ll appreciate the loving restoration of this fantastic holiday cottage, from the Italian limestone flooring to the plantation shutters. The wonderfully social kitchen and dining room benefit from a marble-topped dining table with ample seating for the whole group and other high-end kitchen equipment.

Cool in summer and warm in winter: The American-style fridge/freezer keeps your drinks cold in the summer, with an air-conditioned Kitchen /Conservatory in the sun trap,  while the snug is perfect after autumnal walks.

Cosy-up in the lounge: The stylish lounge with Smart TV, Sky channels and DVD/Blu-Ray player is a wonderful space to retire to after a long day exploring and to cosy-up on the large Chesterfield sofa’s. There is a featured Electronic stove and also underfloor heating under the stone floor on the whole of the ground floor.

Luxury bedroom suites and bathrooms: Upstairs, the remaining three bedrooms, a double with en-suite shower and WC, a king-size with views over the front garden, and finally the final bedroom is a grand four-poster king-size and opposite the main bathroom with bath and WC.

Two of the upstairs bedrooms also have Smart TV connected to Cable Television.

There is an additional single bedroom on the ground floor, with direct access to the rear gardens. All beds have ViSpring mattresses with quality bedding and towels with a choice of Hyperalergenic or Duck down duvets.

Pampered pooches: One of the much-loved features of Haviland Cottage is the unique dog snug, complete with a day-bed, moveable dog beds, a watering station and even a Smart TV! Your dogs will have freedom to roam around the ground floor. We have Italian limestone which will be spotless for your arrival and easy to clean. Your pets will also love the underfloor heating.

Outdoor spaces: There is also plenty of outdoor space around the property, including 3/4 acres of secluded and dog secure gardens and terraces, most behind 7 foot high thick stone walls. The back garden is on several levels ,  proven to be dog secure from your escape artists , and you can gain direct access to the dog snug.  The large front garden is flat , behind thick stone walls , however it does have an ornamental pond ( which has metal grills ) which you may need to keep an eye on if your dog likes water!

Direct access to stunning dog walks: Your pets will love the walks around here. We recommend a walk to St Boniface down, its the highest point on the island and directly behind the cottage. There are also lots of wonderful walks to be enjoyed down to the coastal paths and a literary walk around the village which proved inspirational for Charles Dickens when he stayed in the area.

4 bedroom suites and bathrooms: 1 x four-poster King size, 1 x King size, 1 x double and 1 x single, 1 bathroom, 2 en-suite shower rooms

Dining and entertainment areas: American style fridge/freezer, air Conditioning in the Kitchen /Conservatory, Rangemaster gas oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher and separate Sage oven, DAB digital radio, Nespresso coffee machine in the kitchen including an initial supply of coffee pods, Sage “a little bit more” toaster.

Utility and laundry area: Miele washing machine and condenser tumble dryer.

Hot tub: 6-Seater J-475 Jacuzzi hot tub with spa lighting, massage therapy seats, waterfall  and Bluetooth speakers to chill to your favourite tunes.  Hot Tub towels provided for your stay.

Living spaces and entertainment for the kids: 2 Large Chesterfield Sofa’s ,  2 seater sofa and other chairs. Kids section in living room with extensive library of books, DVD’s, games for all the family and even our Resident Sheep foot stools! Smart TV  & DVD / Blu Ray player in both the lounge and the snug / dog bedroom. Sky TV in the Lounge.

Al fresco dining and BBQ area: This cottage boasts enchanting gardens at both the front and rear of the property, they’re beautiful places to sit and relax taking in the delights of the gardeners’ hard work. Al fresco dining is a must here, with a terrace in the front and back garden and a gas fired BBQ to compliment the fully equipped kitchen.

Heating: Electric underfloor heating under Italian limestone floor on the ground floor. Gas Central Heating with large art-deco radiators throughout the house.Wood-Burning effect Electric Stove in the living room

Gardens and outdoor entertaining: Front and rear gardens. 2 x terrace eating areas with seating, tables and benches. Gas fired BBQ. Tree swings for the kids ( with safety matting). Croquet Set. Seating area in Front Garden terrace , plus benches and sun loungers and deckchairs across the property.

Parking: Off-street parking for two large cars.Electric Vehicle Charging ( at a cost of £30 per week ).

Local amenities: Beautiful sandy beaches, a lovely local pub and handy local shop are all within easy walking distance.

Allergy advice and cleaning: When our guests leave, we have a professional cleaning regime which means that everything is meticulously cleaned from top to bottom. If you do have allergies, please take this into consideration before booking.
